Canada’s Poodle resource
National Breed Club for Toy, Miniature and Standard Poodles
"PROMOTE, PRESERVE AND PROTECT"
Established on June 16th, 1957 at the home of Susie Mae Weir as The Poodle Advancement Association. The goal of this small group of dedicated Poodle Breeders from Southern Ontario was to promote the “total Poodle”.
Over time, this association evolved and expanded its scope and became the Poodle Club of Canada, Canada’s National Breed Club for all 3 varieties of Poodle.
There are 3 recognized varieties of Poodle: The Toy, the Miniature and the Standard. Standard and Miniature Poodles were recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) as a Breed in 1916, Toy Poodle recognition occurred in the late 1940’s.
The aim of PCC is to create and promote interest in the Poodle. The Club encourages it’s members to breed for health, diversity and adherence to the Breed Standard. Participation in Conformation and Performance Events are also recommended.
The Poodle Club of Canada welcomes members who share these goals, those who wish to learn more and those who are fanciers.
